Sucker Punch Updates and More!

It has been a good couple of weeks for news, however I’ve been on holiday and will continue to be on holiday for a few more months. I will update when I can! In the mean time, a large banner for Sucker Punch was released and you can view it in the gallery.

Aside from that, there have been several interesting news articles! Sucker Punch director Zack Snyder has commented about the film in the media recently:

Sucker Punch, the upcoming epic action fantasy, is a movie which takes place in the dream world of a young girl. Her imagination provides the escape from reality which she so badly needs – and brings with it adventures involving dragons, B-52 bombers and brothels!

Here is why, according to Zack Synder, it is so unique:

“We have female characters in this situation that’s mostly the terrain of men…”

“It’s a challenge economically to find who is the audience for the movie. Our hope is that the movie is transcendent, that it becomes something no one’s seen before and exists outside the models [studios] use to track potential economic gains.”

Sucker Punch is already making lists around the world, as is Emily! Sucker Punch is predicted to be one of the Top 5 Action Flicks with Chicks of 2011 according to this list! And watch out for Emily in 2011, according to this one! Baby Doll’s action figure is one of the Most Wanted Toys of 2011 these guys are saying… did you order yours? Also, rounding out with some more Sucker Punch news the talented Alex Pardee has released some details about the film’s concept art book. Check out some of the pictures, and see what was said about them here! I’ve also added some more stills from the movie, and I hope you all enjoyed your holidays!

Emily is also a person of interest when it comes to casting for the upcoming Hunger Games film. However, there is no official word about her having anything to actually do with the movie. It is only a casting idea rumor.

Articles Emily has appeared in this week

Since the Sucker Punch trailer has premiered, the web has been buzzing once again with a lot of spirit for Emily. Do you agree with these bloggers/journalists? Let us know in the comments! Edit: Emily and one of her outfits were also featured in this article.

I really don’t want to get too excited about this trailer, I hate being disappointed. But it’s hard because this one looks SO awesome. Browning, best known as Violet in the Series of Unfortunate Events movie plays Babydoll, a gorgeous teen with huge lips whose thrown into a mental asylum against her will. She bands with a group of unusually hot girls to escape the asylum but what we see seems to be going on in her head. Luckily she has an great imagination. The only thing that’s clear is that it all of it looks awesome. The hyper-realistic look of 300 coupled with the kickass sensibility of a Tarantino film, meaning women kicking ass, looks like an exciting combination.

I’ve seen so many Gossip Girl Kitty Prydes. I don’t even know the girl’s name. But really? That disappoints me. Emily Browning is gorgeous and so amazing at acting. Especially for her age. She would be so good as Kitty. So good!

Unfortunately I’ve been a little busy as of late, but I did post this on Twitter. Emily is nominated for the People’s Choice Awards in 2011 and obviously the way to make sure she wins is to VOTE. I know it’s annoying but if you support Emily and want to see her win something she most certainly deserves, vote as many times as you can. I’m not sure there is a limit. Click here to visit the page and then look for Emily’s name and make sure to submit your vote after selecting it!

Good luck Emily!

New video from Comic-Con

Here’s a video on Youtube from CBS news I found of Zack Snyder and the girls talking while signing autographs from Comic-Con and also on the actual panel. I know it’s nothing new, but at least it’s something to keep us reminded of how cool Sucker Punch is going to be!

CBS Interview, Comic-Con 2010: Sucker Punch Panel

Thanks for checking us out guys! Please remember to let any Em fans you know to check out the site. Soon, I’ll be adding artwork people have submitted to my Twitter for the gallery. I am on a ‘hiatus’ on Twitter, but I figured I’d try to keep the site updated. If you have any legitimate Emily news, feel free to comment!

Sucker Punch Merchandise Updates

Hi everyone! I posted some info about this stuff on my Twitter and also, if you went to Comic-Con you probaly already know about these things but because there’s no recent and proper Emily news, although rumor has it she may still be in the running for the role of Lisbeth Salander in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, other rumors are floating around that she’s either auditioning for another part or working on something else at the moment. We aren’t sure yet, but we’ll keep you updated!

Anyway, Titan Books will be publishing a book called Sucker Punch: The Art of the Film by Zack Snyder. It won’t be released until February 15th, 2011 but I’ve gone ahead and already pre-ordered the book because I am personally sure this film will be fabulous and the artists who put effort into this film are absolutely incredible. If you don’t feel like searching the site for the summary yourself, here it is:

From Zack Snyder, the director of 300 and Watchmen, comes Sucker Punch, an epic action fantasy that takes us into the vivid imagination of a young girl, whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her but her incredible adventures blur the lines between whats real and what is imaginarywith potentially tragic consequences.
In this official book, Snyder guides you through the many amazing worlds and characters of the film, with eye-popping production art and stunning photographs by Clay Enos (Watchmen: Portraits).

If you’re interested in pre-ordering the book, you can do so by clicking here. If you’ve seen the portrait photos Clay Enos has done for the film, and the official Sucker Punch website alongside Alex Pardee portrait work – you’ll be sure to love this book. As soon as my copy is in my hands I’ll be scanning it exclusively for the site, though I know it’s a long time away.

In other news, if you got a chance to check out Emily as Baby Doll’s action figure at Comic-Con, or you haven’t – check it out below:

We’ve heard that the figures on display at the Con, including a couple of the other girls and the ‘bunny mech’ were there on a ‘test run’ but if all goes well after the film’s release Gentle Giant will be releasing them. Note that this is just a rumor and they have declined to reply to any of my e-mails asking on specific release dates or whether it will happen, but we sure hope so. As for t-shirts, other merchandise, etc. – all of that was apparently exclusive to Comic-Con but I was lucky enough to snag myself a signed Baby Doll poster by Emily while the girls were doing signings! I also have a few Baby Doll bracelets and a couple of the other girls, and a high quality ‘postcard’ of the Gentle Giant figure which in my head confirms that they are pushing releasing these things. Apparently in real life they are pretty large, but no, not life size as some people had gotten that idea.

What else do we know about Sucker Punch? I’d like to say I know a fair amount, and I have been lucky enough to be able to have talked to some of the artists briefly over Twitter but I don’t think I know more than the average person who has done their homework on the film. Plus, I think it’s more fun to find out as we go along.

What are you guys more excited about right now, Sucker Punch‘s release date or seeing some images or a teaser trailer from Emily’s other film, Sleeping Beauty? Do you think Emily deserves a break or should she keep on working? Let us know!

Emily apparently supporting co-star Vanessa Hudgens at her performance tonight at the Hollywood Bowl
Filed Under: Uncategorized

Twitter users and people who have gone to see Vanessa Hudgens rehearse for Rent at the Hollywood Bowl have confirmed (though I’m taking it with a grain of salt until we have solid word) that Emily and her boyfriend are in attendance.

Assorted other sources on the web are saying she is going to be sitting in the same box Zac Efron is. Hopefully we can have some photos for you guys. If not, at least it’s good to see Emily supporting one of her co-stars in such a sweet way.

Some icons for you to use on Livejournal/Elsewhere – 100×100
Filed Under: Uncategorized

Hi everyone, you’re probably almost getting tired of my posts! I made some icons and figured you guys would like them. They all work on Livejournal, even the .gif (though sorry it moves so fast – I have an alternate slower version but I think this one looks better) and I’ll be making more. As I do, I’ll edit them into this post and possibly make a new page for icons/wallpapers/etc. Please credit the site if you take/use these. Enjoy!
